Five Creative Healthy Snack Ideas Kids Will Love
by Chloe Croxford ยท 4 Jun 2026
{At Charlie and Bella's Creations CIC we believe creativity belongs at the kitchen table just as much as the easel. Here are five healthy snack ideas that are quick to prep, easy on the eye, and a perfect activity to share with little ones.
1. Fruit kebabs on a rainbow stick. Thread strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, blueberries, and grapes onto a wooden skewer. Talk about what each colour reminds you of as you go.
2. Animal-face rice cakes. Spread a rice cake with cream cheese or nut-free butter, then arrange banana slices for eyes, a raisin nose, and an apple smile. Lions, owls, frogs, the sillier the better.
3. Carrot ribbon collage. Use a vegetable peeler to make long ribbons of carrot and cucumber. Lay them out on a plate in a swirl pattern and dip into hummus.
4. Yoghurt fingerpaint. Mix plain yoghurt with a teaspoon of pureed berries to make natural paint colours. Let little ones brush patterns onto wholemeal toast.
5. Sun-shape pitta pockets. Cut a wholemeal pitta into a triangle, fill it with grated carrot, lettuce, and cucumber, and arrange around a yoghurt 'sun' centre on the plate.
These are designed to be screen-free, sensory, and low-pressure. The point is the play and the chat as much as the eating. Tag us when you try them, we love to see what your little artists come up with.
